In Memoriam: Grand Commander of France, the Chev. Michel Bouillerand, passes away (December 2016)
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing away of the first appointed Grand Commander of France of the Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem, the Chevalier Michel Bouillerand.
The Chevalier Michel Bouillerand had a moving funeral ceremony on the 12th of December at the Church of Saint Louis in Vichy. He passed away at the age of 78 years.
Michel was fondly called Nicky, his nom de guerre when he was very active during the bleak resistance period when France was occupied by Nazi Germany. Always active and supportive within his community, Michel was well loved by all and a source of inspiration to many young Frenchmen of the region who drank from his zeal and dedication in helping his fellow brethren. He will be sorely missed by all. May he rest in peace.
